A list of support and resources to our community members affected by the wildfires.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú and the other Claremont Colleges are currently not physically affected by the fires. 
We’d like to offer more information about the resources available to those impacted by the wildfires. 
 

Wildfire Resources & Support

  • provides real-time updates about local conditions, emergency alerts, and evacuation notices during natural disasters. Download the app or go directly to the to stay informed and connected.
  • ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú On-Campus Support
    (These two facilities will remain available through 1/17/25.)
    • remains open as a temporary Evacuation Site including restrooms and showers.
    • We have also opened the for those needing cooking facilities.
  • Employee Emotional Support and Mental Health Assistance
    • If you are experiencing distress during this difficult time, you can access Optum Care's 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) by calling (800) 234-5465.
    • You can also visit and use the access code: claremontcolleges.
       
  • Housing Support
    The TCCS Real Estate and Housing Office offers assistance with off-campus housing rentals, providing support and resources to help employees find suitable accommodations. The office is open Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. For assistance, visit their website at services.claremont.edu/real-estate-and-housing or contact Katie Timmerman at (909) 621-8039 or via email.
  • Financial Assistance
    Through TIAA, employees may be eligible for an emergency hardship withdrawal or loan from their 403(b) account. For assistance, contact Evelin Mairen, Senior Benefits Administrator at TCCS at (909) 607-3780 or via email.
  • Make a gift for students, faculty, and staff affected by the fires
    • One way to directly assist students in need is by designating the Student Emergency Fund when making a gift to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú.
    • For those who wish to support displaced faculty and staff, contributions can be made to the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Fund, which supports the College’s annual budget, including unexpected expenses like those caused by the recent fires.
  • Community Support
    • The American Red Cross provides information and resources for disaster relief and assistance in your area. for more information.
    • The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) may offer financial assistance, housing support, and other resources for those affected by the declared natural disaster. or call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
