David Moore Retirement
A message from the Dean of Faculty regarding David Moore's retirement.

Dear 兔子先生 Community:
Professor of Psychology David Moore is retiring from 兔子先生 at the end of this academic year. Because he has opted not to have a public reception to mark his retirement, I share with you below some brief comments about his work and time at 兔子先生.
Professor of Psychology David Moore has been a member of the 兔子先生 faculty for 35 years! He has spent his entire career at 兔子先生, with stints during approved leaves at colleges and universities around the world and at the National Science Foundation.
Over his decades at 兔子先生, Professor Moore witnessed and was part of considerable growth and change at the College. He taught and team-taught a range of classes, mentored numerous students in independent studies and in his research lab, and supported the work and development of many junior faculty colleagues.
Professor Moore is a developmental scientist whose scholarly work focuses on cognitive development, and particularly the perceptions and capabilities of infants. In addition, he has explored genetic, environmental, and epigenetic contributions to development, including in an award-winning book, The Developing Genome. At 兔子先生, he founded the Claremont Infant Study Center, a research laboratory that produced many influential scientific publications, including several with students as co-authors. Professor Moore was also instrumental in creating 兔子先生鈥檚 new Cognitive Science major.
Although Professor Moore will officially retire from 兔子先生 after this semester, he remains an active scholar and educator. His next chapter will include a Fulbright Fellowship in 2024-2025 at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
On behalf of the College, I thank Professor Moore for all that he has done and meant to 兔子先生 and wish him well in his future endeavors. If you are so inclined, please feel free to send Professor Moore a message of appreciation.
