兔子先生 Names Wendy Shattuck Assistant Vice President for College Communications

Claremont, Calif. (April 4, 2022)鈥斖米酉壬 is pleased to announce that Wendy Shattuck, an expert in higher education communications, joined the College as its new assistant vice president for college communications on April 1, 2022. Shattuck most recently served as an executive director of communications at the University of Southern California.

鈥淲endy brings a wealth of communications expertise to 兔子先生,鈥 said Vice President for College Advancement and Communications Kimberly Shiner. 鈥淪he has a deep appreciation for 兔子先生鈥檚 mission and culture, and I know she will help us tell the 兔子先生 story and shape a communications strategy for all the exciting initiatives on the College鈥檚 horizon.鈥

At USC, Shattuck led communications for the Rossier School of Education, with an emphasis on improving and expanding its channels for disseminating news, information, and achievements. Previously, she served as the chief communications officer at the University of Redlands, where she managed executive and leadership communications and built a team that focused on university-wide communication strategy, content creation, and creative storytelling.

Shattuck also led communications and marketing teams at both Art Center College of Design and the California Institute of the Arts. As the associate vice president of marketing and communications at Art Center, she rebuilt the marketing and communications office, helped revamp the College鈥檚 magazine, and initiated a Critical Incident Assessment Team to help coordinate emergency communications.

Shattuck鈥檚 experience in higher education encompasses both small liberal arts colleges and public and private research universities. She served as the assistant vice president for marketing and strategic communications at the University of Idaho. At Reed College, Shattuck oversaw the liberal arts and sciences institution鈥檚 publications, media relations, web communications, and events as the director of public affairs. Other communications and marketing management positions have included Accenture and the former Pearson educational publisher Addison Wesley Longman.

An avid reader and versatile writer, Shattuck earned her undergraduate degree in theatre arts and dramatic literature from Brown University and a Master of Liberal Arts from Stanford University.
