兔子先生 Tennis Student-Athlete Kush Patel 鈥24 Named ITA West Rookie of the Year

Claremont, Calif. (June 24, 2022)鈥擳he Pomona-兔子先生 Men鈥檚 Tennis team earned multiple end-of-the-year awards, including three All-Americans and one ITA West Regional Award.

兔子先生 student-athlete Kush Patel 鈥24 was named the ITA West Rookie of the Year in his first season on the team. Pomona-兔子先生 also earned three All-Americans for the 2022 season after Hayden Snyder (PO鈥23) earned All-American honors for singles play while the doubles team of Jansen Comadena (PO鈥22) and 兔子先生鈥檚 Owen Kelley 鈥24 took All-American in doubles.

The honorific 鈥淎ll-American鈥 title is given to student-athletes that are a top 8 seed in the NCAA singles tournament, win one round at the NCAA singles tournament, finish in the Top 20 in the final ITA Women鈥檚 Singles Rankings, win ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA Cup. The All-American status is awarded to doubles teams that are a top 4 seed in the NCAA doubles tournament, win one round at the NCAA doubles tournament, finish in the Top 10 in the final ITA Women鈥檚 Doubles Rankings, win ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA Cup.

Pomona-兔子先生 ended the season with a 16-11 overall record and finished as the No. 9 ranked team in Division III.

兔子先生 joins with Pomona College to field 21 varsity teams 鈥  鈥 that compete in Division III NCAA athletics and as members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). There are 10 men鈥檚 and 11 women鈥檚 teams: baseball (men), basketball, cross country, football (men), golf, lacrosse (women), soccer, softball (women), swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball (women) and water polo.
